Privacy Policy — Stock & Barcode Inventory

Stock & Barcode Inventory ("the app") is published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. The canonical copy of this policy is at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/shop-inventory/privacy/

The short version

• There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. Your items, stock movements, stocktakes, suppliers, locations and photos are stored only on your phone.
• We never receive your stock data. We have no way to see it.
• The app contains no advertising and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK added by us.
• Two Google components inside the app send Google their own diagnostic information: Google Play Billing (for Pro purchases) and the Google code scanner (for scanning barcodes). This is described in detail below and declared in the app's Google Play Data safety section.

What stays on your phone

Everything you enter is stored in the app's private storage on your device: item names, variants, SKUs, barcodes, categories, units, costs, prices, reorder levels, shelves, notes, item photos, stock movements (receipts, sales, use, corrections and transfers), stocktake counts, suppliers (names and any phone number or email you type) and locations.

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else by the app. It leaves your phone only if you choose to move it yourself, for example by:

• using Export all my data, which writes one JSON file to a location you pick;
• exporting items as CSV, or sharing a reorder list or label sheet as a PDF or text, through Android's share sheet to an app and recipient you pick;
• Android's own device backup, if you have it switched on. The app allows its database, settings and item photos to be included in your personal Google backup and in device-to-device transfer.

Photos

Item photos come from the Android photo picker (only the photo you pick is shared with the app) or from your camera app, which writes the photo into a file the app provides. The app stores a smaller copy in its private storage. The app does not request access to your photo library and does not upload photos anywhere.

Barcode scanning (Google code scanner)

Scanning uses the Google code scanner, a module provided by Google Play services. The camera screen runs inside Google Play services, not inside this app; the app declares no camera permission, never receives the camera image, and only receives the decoded code (the numbers or text in the barcode). Images are processed on the device.

Google Play services downloads the scanner module when it is first needed. Like other ML Kit features, the code scanner sends Google diagnostic and usage information so Google can maintain and improve it: device information (such as manufacturer, model, operating system version), app information (such as package name and app version), device or other identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, event types and error codes. It does not send the barcode images or the codes you scan. Google describes this at https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure

Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Pro is sold through Google Play as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. The app receives only a purchase token and the product ID from Google Play, which it uses to unlock Pro on this device, and it asks Google Play what you own each time it starts so a purchase is restored on a new phone.

The Google Play Billing library included in the app sends Google its own diagnostic information about the billing service (such as app and library versions, device and operating system information and error codes). Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy

In-app review

After you have recorded 100 stock movements the app asks Google Play, once, whether to show Google's rating prompt. Google Play decides whether it appears; any review you write is handled by Google.

What we collect

We, DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC, do not collect, receive, store, sell or share any personal information from the app. The only data that leaves the app automatically is the diagnostic information sent to Google by the two Google components described above. For the Google Play Data safety section this is declared as:

• App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required
• Device or other IDs: collected, not shared, required

Both are sent to Google as the provider of those components, encrypted in transit, and are used by Google for diagnostics and analytics of its own services. We do not receive them.

Deleting your data

Settings > Delete all data removes every item, movement, stocktake, supplier, location, photo and setting from the app on your phone in one step and returns the app to how it was when first installed. Uninstalling the app also removes everything it stored. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing held by us to delete. A purchase you made stays with your Google account and can be managed in Google Play.

Children

The app is a business tool intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If the app's behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy and its effective date will be updated at the address above before the new version is released.
