Sheet Music Reader: Privacy Policy
Effective 27 September 2026. Published by DIGITAL SHIJIL LLC at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/sheet-music/privacy/
Sheet Music Reader ("the app") shows sheet music files you import, full screen, with page turns, markings and setlists. This policy explains what happens to your information. The short version: your scores and everything you do with them stay on your device.
What the app stores
- Copies of the PDFs and photos you import, byte for byte, in the app's private storage. The file you picked is never changed.
- The details you give each score: title, composer, genre, key, tags and collections.
- Your markings (pencil, highlighter, text, music symbols), their layers, jump links, trimmed margins and performance page orders. These are kept separately from the score file and never written into it.
- Your setlists and their notes.
- Settings such as pages on screen, paper colour, half-page turns and your page-turn pedal keys.
All of it is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. The app has no account, no sign-in and no server. The publisher cannot see, access or recover it.
What leaves your device
- Nothing the app sends itself. The app does not contain advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software and never uploads your scores or data.
- Google Play Billing. To sell and restore the one-time Pro unlock, the app uses Google's Play Billing library. That library connects to Google Play and sends Google diagnostic information about the billing connection (for example whether a purchase call succeeded). In Play's Data safety terms this is: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. It is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy); payment details go to Google Play and are never seen by the app or the publisher.
- Files you choose to save. "Export all my data" writes one backup file (your scores, markings and setlists) to a place you choose. Where it goes after that is up to you.
- Android backup. If you use Android's own backup, your library, scores and settings are included in it, under your Google account's backup settings.
Permissions
The app asks for no permissions. Files come in only through the system file and photo pickers, or when you share a file to the app or open it with the app; each of these lets the app read exactly the files or folder you chose, nothing else. Page-turn pedals work as Bluetooth keyboards, so no Bluetooth permission is needed. The installed app also lists internet and network state, added by Google's Play Billing library. The app has no access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or any file or photo you did not pick.
Your choices
- Export all my data (Settings) saves everything as one file.
- Delete all data (Settings) removes every score, marking, jump, setlist and setting from the device. Uninstalling the app does the same. The files you originally imported from are not touched.
- Diagnostics sent by the Play Billing library go to Google and cannot be deleted by the publisher; see Google's privacy policy.
Music you import
The app contains no music and offers none for download. It reads only files you bring. You are responsible for having the right to use the scores you import.
Children
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the address above with a new effective date.
