The short version

Rent Receipt Generator sends nothing you type anywhere and has no accounts. Everything you type stays in the app's own storage on your phone until you delete it. The only thing that leaves the device is Google Play's billing library reporting its own diagnostics to Google, described below.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below is stored only in this app's private storage on your device. None of it is transmitted, and the publisher has no way to read any of it.

Landlord PAN numbers and residential addresses are sensitive. They are treated the same way as everything else here: written to this app's private storage on your device, never uploaded, never shared with the publisher or anyone else, and removed completely when you use "Delete all data".

What leaves your device

Nothing you type. Specifically:

• No analytics. The app contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK.
• One exception, from Google Play's billing library. The library that sells the full version sends Google its own diagnostic logs: whether its calls to Google Play succeeded, and when the connection to Google Play failed. They contain nothing you type and nothing from your receipts, they go to Google rather than to the publisher, and the publisher never sees them. Google's privacy policy covers them.
• No advertising. The app contains no ads SDK and does not use an advertising identifier.
• No accounts. There is no sign-in, no profile and no server to sign in to.
• No file uploads. Receipts are written to the app's own cache and shared only when *you* pick a destination in the Android share sheet or the print dialog.

The app requests no Android permissions of its own. The permissions you can see in the Play listing (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, com.android.vending.BILLING) are added by Google Play's billing library, which is what sells the one-time full-version unlock. The network is reachable only because that library needs it to talk to Google Play. The app itself makes no network requests. The release build fails to compile if any other permission appears in the manifest.

Photos

If you add a signature image, it is chosen through the Android Photo Picker. The app receives access to the one image you picked and nothing else; it holds no photo or storage permission and cannot see your gallery. The image is not copied into the app — only a reference to it is stored, and it is read when a receipt is drawn.

Google Play billing

Buying the full version is handled entirely by Google Play. The app never sees or stores a card number, a billing address or any payment detail. It stores only a yes/no flag saying whether Google Play reported the purchase, and it re-asks Google Play every time the app starts. Backup

If you have Android's own backup turned on, your tenancies, receipts and settings can be included in your device's backup to your Google account, which is encrypted and controlled by you, not by this app. The purchase flag is deliberately excluded from backup. You can turn Android backup off in your device settings.

Your data is yours

• Export all my data in Settings writes every tenancy and every receipt to a readable JSON file at a location you choose. It is available in the free version.
• Delete all data in Settings removes every tenancy, every receipt, every setting and every generated PDF from the device. Afterwards the app is as it was on first install. This cannot be undone, and there is no copy anywhere else to recover from.

Children

The app is not directed at children. It is a document tool for adults who rent a home.

Not tax advice

The app produces documents from details you enter. It gives no tax advice, calculates no exemption, and files nothing with any authority. The receipts it produces are generated by you, the tenant; they are not issued or certified by any government or tax authority. What you submit, and to whom, is your decision and your responsibility.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
