Referee Watch & Match Log: Privacy Policy
Effective 27 September 2026. This policy covers the Android phone app and the Wear OS watch app Referee Watch & Match Log (package com.veltislabs.refereewatch), published by VELTIS LABS LLC. Questions: contact@veltislabs.com.
In short
- No account, no sign-in and no server. Your matches, cards and reports stay on your phone and your own watch.
- No advertising, no analytics and no tracking code.
- No location, no GPS, no heart-rate or other body sensors, and no health or fitness data of any kind.
- The only things that leave your devices are what Google Play's own billing library sends to Google (described below), the match data your phone and watch pass to each other through Google's Wear OS Data Layer (described below), and anything you choose to share yourself.
What the apps keep on your phone and watch
Stored only in the apps' private storage:
- The matches you plan: teams, kit colours, competition, venue, kick-off time and match format.
- The match clock: when each period started and paused, so the time is right after the screen was off or the watch restarted.
- What you log: goals, cautions, sendings-off and substitutions, with shirt numbers, misconduct codes and the match minute. If you type a player's name or a note into a report, that is stored too.
- Your fee, expenses and the distance you type in for each match, and your season totals.
- Your settings, including the name you choose to print on reports.
The publisher never receives any of it and cannot see, recover or delete it for you.
Between your phone and your watch
When you send a planned match to your watch, and when the watch sends its match log back, the two apps use the Wear OS Data Layer in Google Play services. Over Bluetooth the data goes directly between your paired devices. When they are not connected by Bluetooth, Google Play services may relay it through Google's cloud; Google states that this relay is end-to-end encrypted and that only this app, signed by the same publisher, on your own paired devices can read it. Your phone also tells your watch whether you own Pro, so the watch works when the phone is out of range. None of this reaches the publisher.
Permissions
Phone app: notifications (the lock-screen match clock), alarms and reminders (an on-time period-end buzz, only if you allow it), vibration, and restarting its alarms after the phone restarts. The Google Play Billing library adds four more entries: com.android.vending.BILLING, android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, and a signature-level permission that protects the app's own internal broadcasts. The app's own code makes no network requests.
Watch app: vibration, notifications, alarms and reminders, restarting its alarms after the watch restarts, and a foreground service that keeps the match clock running while the watch screen is off. The watch app does not request internet access.
Neither app asks for location, camera, microphone, contacts, body sensors, activity recognition or storage access.
Purchases (Google Play)
Referee Watch Pro is sold by Google Play as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Google processes your payment; the app never sees your card or payment details. The phone app asks Google Play only whether your account owns Pro, so that Pro comes back on a new phone.
The Google Play Billing library sends Diagnostics about the billing connection to Google. In the Play Console Data safety form this is declared as: App info and performance > Diagnostics: collected, not shared, required. Google uses it to run and troubleshoot purchases. The publisher does not receive it and it is not used for advertising.
Backups
If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android may include the phone app's matches and settings in your own device backup, so they can move to a new phone. That backup is held by Google under your account and governed by Google's privacy policy; the publisher has no access to it. The cached Pro status is never backed up. The watch app is not backed up; your phone holds the lasting copy.
Sharing and exports
Nothing is shared unless you share it. A misconduct report PDF, or the "Export all my data" file, is created on your phone and handed to the app or place you pick. What happens next is governed by that app or service. Reports carry the line "For personal record-keeping. Not an official document."
Deleting your data
On the phone, Settings > Delete all data erases every match, card, fee and setting, withdraws planned matches from your watch and returns the app to a fresh install. On the watch, Settings > Delete all data on this watch does the same there. Uninstalling either app removes everything it stored. A Pro purchase is not affected: it belongs to your Google account and is restored from Google Play.
Not a health app
The apps are match timers and record books for referees. They do not measure, store or infer anything about your body or your fitness.
Children
The apps are made for adult referees and are rated for ages 18 and over. They are not directed at children and do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at https://apps.digitalshijil.com/referee-watch/privacy/ with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the release notes.
