Privacy Policy — Resume Builder & CV Maker PDF
The short version
What you type stays on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no server of ours and no analytics. Everything you write stays on your device until you choose to share it. The only data that leaves the phone is Google Play Billing's own diagnostic logs, described below.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you type is saved in a private database on your own device, in storage only this app can read:
- Your name, job title, email address, phone number, location, website and LinkedIn address
- Your summary, work history, education, skills, languages, certificates, projects, references and any sections you create yourself
- Your cover letters
- A profile photo, if you add one
- Your settings: chosen template, colour, page size
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is not backed up to us, because there is no "us" to back it up to — there is no server behind this app.
If you have Android's own backup switched on, your device may include this app's data in your personal Google account backup. That is a Google service you control in your device settings, governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours. You can exclude this app there.
Your photo
If you add a photo, it is chosen through Android's built-in Photo Picker. The app never receives access to your photo library — only to the one image you picked. That image is then copied into the app's own private storage so it keeps working later, and it is deleted when you remove the photo or delete your data.
The app requests no storage permission at all.
Files you export
PDF, DOCX and JSON files are written to the app's private cache and handed to Android's share sheet. What happens next is entirely your choice: you pick the app, the person or the folder. We never see the file and it is never uploaded anywhere by this app.
Internet access
The app works completely offline. Its own code never opens a network connection; the only thing that does is Google's Play Billing library, as described below.
For the sake of being straight with you: the app does list the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions on the Play Store, and you would be right to ask why. They come from Google's Play Billing library, which the app includes so it can offer the one-time Pro purchase, and which brings them along whether or not they are used. This app's own code never uses them. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Google Play Billing's diagnostic logs
The one piece of code in this app that talks to a server is Google's Play Billing library, which the app includes so it can offer the Pro purchase. That library keeps its own diagnostic logs: records of billing calls succeeding or failing and of connection problems with Google Play, sent to Google in the background. They describe the billing connection, not you: they do not contain your name, anything you typed, your resumes or your cover letters. They are Google's records, handled under the Google Privacy Policy, and we cannot see or delete them.
Purchases
Pro is a single one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is handled entirely by Google Play. Google Play processes the payment; this app never sees your name, your card details or your email address. All it asks Google is whether your Google account owns the Pro item, and it remembers that yes-or-no answer on your device so Pro works offline.
Google's handling of your purchase is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising
This version of the app contains no advertising and no advertising SDK. No advertising identifier is read. If an ad-supported version is ever released it will be stated clearly on the store listing and in the Data safety section, and this policy will be updated before that release.
Analytics and crash reporting
There is none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporting, no usage tracking, no fingerprinting. We do not know how many resumes you have made, which templates you use, or whether you ever opened the app twice.
Children
This app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. As no information is collected from anyone at all, this is true by construction.
Your control over your data
Because everything lives on your device, you have complete control. In Settings:
- Export all my data writes every resume and cover letter into a single readable JSON file you can keep, inspect, or move to another phone.
- Import data reads a file the export produced back in, on this phone or a new one. You pick the file through Android's own file picker, so the app only ever sees the one file you chose; it needs no storage permission. Importing only adds, so it can never overwrite something you already had.
- Delete all data permanently removes every resume, cover letter and photo from the device.
Uninstalling the app also removes everything it stored.
There is nothing for you to request from us, because we hold nothing. There is no account to close and no deletion request to file.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that affects what the app collects will be reflected in the Play Store Data safety section before the version that makes the change is released.
